HowLongTime.com is a free countdown timer that answers everyday time questions: how long until 5 PM, how many days until Christmas, how many weekdays until a deadline, or what 14:30 is on a 12-hour clock.

How the numbers are calculated

Countdowns run in your browser using your device clock and time zone, so the live numbers are always correct for where you are. The figures written in each page are calculated on our server when the page is loaded and are refreshed every minute.

• Weekdays are Monday to Friday. Public holidays are listed separately so you can subtract the ones that apply to you.
• Weekends are counted by the number of Saturdays in the period.
• Months are whole calendar months, followed by the remaining days.
• Holiday dates are computed from each holiday's rule (for example, Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November).
• Moon phases are approximate, based on the average synodic month of 29.53 days.
